THE ALSAGER 5
An annual five-mile road race in Alsager, Cheshire, first held in 1985.
RACE HISTORY
The event was originally known as the Butters 5. The first race in 1985 started and finished outside an estate agent’s premises in the town centre.
Race headquarters moved to Alsager Leisure Centre in 1991. The centre remains the event’s headquarters, with the established course starting on Pikemere Road and finishing in the leisure centre grounds.
The race traditionally takes place on the first Sunday in February. Chip timing was introduced in 2014.
2027 EDITION
The 2027 race takes place on Sunday 7 February, starting at 11:00 AM. PAU Run & Ride continues as title sponsor.
